Suspects arrested for cable theft in the Turffontein area in Johannesburg South

Continuous efforts to fight against the theft and vandalism of critical infrastructure in the City of Johannesburg two males aged 30 and 38 were arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover Unit for cable theft in Turffontein, Johannesburg South.

On Thursday evening, 05 October 2023, whilst conducting crime prevention patrols at Turffontien Road and Eastwood Street officers received information of two suspects cutting cable in Mainhall at Turffontien Road.

The officers proceeded to the given location where they found two males engaged in cutting the cable.

The duo was immediately arrested and detained at Booysens for tempering with municipal property. They are due to appear in court soon.
