An On-Duty Reaction Officer from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) who responded to an unrelated call out in Tongaat – Kwazulu Natal arrested a suspicious man who was later identified as sought after by Law Enforcement
The Reaction Officer on route to a residence in Flamingo Hieghts in Tongaat – KZN at approx 12:18 to attend to a call out observed a man on the railway line behaving suspiciously when noticing the marked response motorbike. The Biker then attended to the unrelated incident at the home and rode along the railway line searching for the man on his return. He eventually spotted the male and intercepted him. Upon searching him, the Officer recovered a replica pistol & a 9mm short live ammunition tucked into his waistband. The firearm was modified to fit a single 9mm round.
Medicine from a Traditional Healer was found attached to his right arm. The suspect was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of Ammunition & Possession of Homemade Firearm and handed over to the South African Police Services (SAPS).
