Information was received regarding four suspects who had planned to undergo an armed robbery on Helen Joseph Road, Umbilo, whereby they were going to enter the store with an old fridge door rubber and pose as customers.
The business in question sells fridge door sealers. Three suspects reside in the Cato Crest shack settlement, while the other resides in Bonela. The members set up an observation point and noticed a white Ford Ikon entering alone.
A short while later, the exact vehicle drove out with three other unknown male occupants using a different registration number.
The vehicle was intercepted at the intersection of South Ridge Road and Glenwood Drive, Manor Gardens. The occupants were tactically removed from the vehicle, and a search was conducted.
In the vehicle, numerous exhibits were seized, including unlicensed firearms.
