The police in Vuwani under Vhembe District are appealing to the community to come forward with information that can assist in the apprehension of suspects responsible for the brutal murder of a 19-year-old man on Friday morning, 24 November 2023 at Hamangilasi Village in a suspected vigilante attack.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was forcibly taken from his home at Khwekhwe Village by community members from Hamangilasi after they accused him of robberies in their area.
The victim’s body was later found partially burnt and brutally assaulted.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General, Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the mob justice and ordered for the immediate arrest of those responsible for the senseless killing.
