A man in his thirties was killed after he was allegedly struck by a goods train in Rockford – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
An employee from a Private Security Company contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 07:37 requesting medical assistance for the male.
RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched and on arrival pronounced the victim deceased. He sustained severe head injuries, degloving from his right knee to his ankle. His right foot was also amputated.
According to a Security Officer, the deceased was struck by a goods train at approximately 04:00. They attempted seeking medical attention but were unsuccessful. They thereafter contacted RUSA.
Onlookers informed Reaction Officers that the deceased is a known drug user who frequents the area.
