MEC Radzilani commends SAPS for the rapid arrest of a suspect, following the murder of an 18-year-old girl at Botlokwa

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani, has commended the Police for the rapid arrest of a suspect in connection with the murder of an 18-year old girl at Botlokwa, whose decomposed body was discovered in an abandoned house at Mokomene, Ga-Thoka village, under the Capricorn District on Monday, 08 January 2024.

According to reports, the arrested suspect has provided the Police with information that led to the discovery of the missing body parts – such as the head, of the victim.

The MEC has urged community members to exercise restrain and allow Police investigations to proceed.
Meanwhile, MEC Radzilani has also expressed gratitude for the swift arrest of three suspects linked to the murder of Department of Education Official, Dr Malekutu Johannes Mehlape, who was gunned down at his home in Makwenng Zone 1, outside Polokwane, on the 28 of December 2023.

In another development, the MEC has also commended the work of the Police, in the investigation of the murders of Magdeline Motlanthe and her son, Nkgoropo Joseph Motlanthe, from Westenburg in Polokwane, who were both murdered and buried in shallow graves, in Sekhukhune.

The MEC has welcomed these arrests, and applauded the SAPS in the Province, for the diligent work in investigating these murder cases.
‘This’, she says, ‘must send a strong message to other criminals, that the Police are capable of unravelling and investigating any case’.

She has also appealed with community members to cooperate with the Police, and help them with information that will help them in investigations of crime.
