Arrest in Newton Park. During the early hours of yesterday morning, the Fidelity ADT control room received an activation from an outdoor beam at a premises in Newton Park and immediately dispatched our response officers to investigate.
On arrival, the officers noticed three suspects attempting to steal a water pump at the back of the premises and immediately jumped into action. The three males began to run when they noticed the officers closing in, but one of the males could not get away and was quickly boxed in and arrested.
SAPS stood off and the suspect was handed over and taken to the Mount Road police station. The Newton Park business area has been targeted over the last few weeks and our team is remaining on high alert. Another quick response led to a much-needed arrest.
