Suspect nabbed in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition during intelligence operation

A crime intelligence operation with assistance of members attached to Middleburg SAPS and Cradock K9 yielded positive results when they apprehended suspect for possession illegal firearm ammunition and explosives.

Yesterday, 7 March 2024 at about 07:30, members followed information of suspects being in possession of Illegal Firearm, ammunition and explosive. They proceeded to a house that was identified, and the search was conducted. During the search, the following items were confiscated:
– One 9mm firearm
– One hunting rifle
– One Pencil Flare firearm
– Four bottles full of gun powder
– Explosives also confiscated
– 4500 live ammunition
– Four cans of Explosives

A 71-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition and is appearing before Middleburg Magistrate Court today, 08 March 2024.
