A 36 year old male was arrested by Reaction Officers during a Housebreaking in progress on Flamingo Way in Dawncrest – Kwazulu Natal earlier today (11:32 Wednesday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received information that an unknown male was gaining entry into a residence. The caller informed the Operations Center that the suspect was attired in a blue shirt & grey track pants & had hopped a wall. The Controller on Duty kept the caller on the line and was updated as the man entered the garage by forcing open the door. This information was relayed to responding Officers.
When the first Reaction Officer arrived at the location he noticed that the suspect was in the process of removing an air conditioning unit. The Officer abandoned his Response Vehicle & pursued the suspect on foot for several hundred meters.
The Officer re-directed backup vehicles to Kestrel Grove – Dawncrest where the suspect was intercepted & arrested.
