Thirty kids at a creche (name withheld) in Redcliffe – KZN scared off a masked intruder who attempted to gain entry into the home of an elderly woman this afternoon.
The children noticed a man wearing a black mask crawl out of a dense bush at approximately 16:02. Their screams alerted caregivers on the property who ran out and found the man approaching a home.
The adult ran indoors to use the telephone to call Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) while the children continued to scream at the perpetrator. He eventually fled on foot and failed to gain entry into the target home.
Reaction Officers searched the dense bush (main picture) for the suspect. No arrests were made & the male was not identified.
It could not be confirmed if the suspect was armed.
