The Kuruman police seized four firearms and ammunition and successfully arrested two males after an operation in Kuruman.
On Friday, 19 April 2024 at approximately 07:00 members of John Taolo Gaetsewe District Highway Patrol assisted by Public Order Police, K9 Unit, Kuruman Visible Policing and Detectives followed up on information and raided a house in Kuruman.
The members confiscated four firearms, ammunition, pangas and knives that were found on the premises.
Two male suspects, aged 29 and 36 years old, were charged with possession of unlicensed firearms, amunition, and dangerous weapons.
The suspects will appear in the Kuruman Magistrates Court soon. The investigation continues.
The Provincial Commissioner for the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, lauded the SAPS members for their swift reaction and unabated efforts to combat the proliferation of illegal firearms in our province.
