KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka today handed over the contractor for the rehabilitation of P34/5 in Ward 03, eDumbe Community Hall, eDumbe Local Municipality.
Main Road P34/5 which provide access to facilities within eDumbe township, Bilayo, Nhlungwane area within The Bhovungane Traditional council. Rehabilitation of main road P34/5 serves as the mobility route between KwaZulu-Natal and the Mpumalanga Province.
The rehabilitation of this main road will also provide a safe road and reduce the traveling distance to important amenities. The cost of the project is estimated to cost R303 million with more than 150 employment opportunities set to be created.
Hlomuka concluded his day by officially unveiling the contractor and also engaging the local community.
