The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Thembisa Precinct Officers, recovered an abandoned Nissan hatchback, reported robbed/hijacked in the Ivory Park vicinity.
EMPD Officers busy with administration inside the precinct situated at Lekaneng section, noticed two (2) suspicious male characters through the windows, leaving behind a maroon Nissan hatchback, which came in high speed, before they ran into the nearest informal settlement.
The unusual scene drew Officers attention and they went out, to investigate further. The suspicious Nissan, was carefully approached and tested, using the displayed VIN number and the registration/number plate. The results, came out positive that, the hatch-back, was reported robbed from the liable owner, that morning in the Ivory Park area.
All the stakeholders, including the Fingerprints section from the South African Police Service (SAPS), were summoned and the recovered Nissan, was towed to the Thembisa police station, for safekeeping and to be further investigated.
