Tshwane Metro Police Department conducted a joint by-law operation in Ga-Rankuwa

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), Ga-Rankuwa South African Police Service and City of Tshwane waste management officials conducted a by-law operation in Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria, on Tuesday, 14 May 2024.

By-laws are the rules of a municipality that outline fundamental guidelines for managing its affairs. They aim to set up the structure, procedures and methods for resolving disputes within a municipality.

The operation was successful, with 17 shops inspected for business compliance and expired food items confiscated. A total of 27 Section 56 notices were issued to individuals and business owners who were found in violation of City by-laws.

The TMPD encourages the community to adhere to municipal by-laws and to report any unlawful activities to their nearest TMPD region.

Well done, team TMPD for your dedication and hard work!

Issued by the Tshwane Metro Police Communication Unit.
