Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) have tracked down and arrested a leader of a gang wanted for robberies in the Verulam CBD in Kwazulu Natal.
The suspect and two of his accomplices have been robbing victims at knife point over the past week. They then flee into bushes along the R102 North and Southbound lane.
This morning (Wednesday) at approximately 07:02 the gang attacked a male victim. They produced knives and robbed him of an Itel mobile phone and other valuables.
Reaction Officers tracked the suspect for several hours and arrested him. An Okapi knife used in the robbery was recovered in his possession.
The victim positively identified the suspect as the perpetrator that had robbed him.
