Threunlicensed firearms were recovered within three hours in Verulam – Kwazulu Natal.
An unlicensed shotgun, an unlicensed revolver and several rounds of live ammunition were recovered in a Joint Operation between Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), Metro Police and the South African Police Services (SAPS) Verulam.
A Chemical Engineering student found in possession of the illegal firearms was arrested and charged accordingly.
Reaction Officers responded to an Armed Business Robbery and a shooting in progress on Wick Street – Verulam. Upon arrival a Beretta 9mm pistol was found abandoned on the street.
The revolver and the 9mm pistol had the serial numbers filed off.
