A man believed to be in his thirties was bludgeoned to death with a discarded television in Hazelmere – KZN.
Residents contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 07:14 after they discovered the victim’s lifeless body on an unpaved footpath.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival were directed to the scene where the man was located lying in a prone position. He sustained blunt force trauma to his head and multiple lacerations to his face.
Broken blood stained glass from a discarded TV was discovered on his face and around his body. According to residents, the TV was lying along the footpath for several months.
The deceased was identified as a resident of Hazelmere – KZN. He was seen last night (Saturday) at a local tavern.
The motive for the murder has not been established.
