A Security Officer was shot during a robbery at a Spar on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN this afternoon.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 19:06. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the Security Officer bleeding excessively from a gunshot wound to his left thigh.
It was established that injured male was in possession of a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash. A suspect posing as a customer in the store shot him and fled with the bag.
The injured male was treated for his injury before being expedited to hospital by ambulance.
