A 56-year-old security official allegedly shot and injured of a suspect who was found in the process of burglary in the local school at Bloodriver near Seshego.
The shooting incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, 02 July 2024 at about 02:00.
Preliminary investigations indicates that the security guard responded to a burglary incident at the local primary school. Upon arrival, he found a group of suspects in the act.
The other suspect fled the scene, and one suspect was caught, but he resisted arrest and attacked the security officer. In the process, the security officer in response to the situation shot the suspect twice on the leg.
The 35-year-old male suspect is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard and is charged with business burglary while the security officer is charged with attempted murder.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into this matter to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
The burglary suspect will soon appear before Seshego Magistrate’s Court.
