Bhambayi resident hands over stolen items in Ethekweni

A 29 year old Municipal Employee arrived at the RUSA Headquarters this morning (Friday) reporting that he was in possession of goods believed to be stolen.

The resident of Bhambayi – KZN informed Reaction Officers that he operated a shebeen from his residence to supplement his income & had heard late last night that Officers from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) had conducted a midnight operation on foot & arrested a wanted suspect.

He added he became concerned when he heard that Reaction Officers had recovered valuables including Hewlett Packard (HP) Laptops from homes in the area. The resident remained awake for the rest of the night fearing arrest & arrived at the RUSA Headquarters at first light. He then led Reaction Officers back to his residence and handed over a HP Laptop & other valuables. He informed Officers that the stolen items where left at his shebeen for safekeeping by the suspect in custody.

Reaction Officers handed in the recovered items as exhibits to the South African Police Service (SAPS).
