Over 1 400 illegal connections were removed in a joint operation in the City of Ekurhuleni

Over 1 400 illegal connections were removed in a joint operation with the City’s Energy Revenue Enhancement team, Ops and Maintenance, Anti Cable Theft Unit, Security and Loss Control Gauteng Traffic and their traffic wardens.

The operation today was carried out at Comet in Boksburg.

It is a crime to steal electricity and tamper with the City’s infrastructure. Illegal connections affect everyone and can overload and damage the electrical grid and plunge areas unnecessarily into darkness.
