A robbery suspect was seriously injured after he beaten by a mob in Westham, Phoenix – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 11:32. On arrival, Reaction Officers established that three suspects robbed a couple for two cellphones and cash at knifepoint before they fled on foot.
The victim followed the robbers and apprehended one of the men with assistance from the public. They recovered one cellphone belonging to the victim and an Okapi knife used in the robbery. The mob bound the suspects hands behind his back and began assaulting him.
The suspect was released after the victim declined to register a criminal case.
