Fleeing hijackers fired shots at a pedestrian in Trenance Park

Shots were fired by fleeing hijackers who robbed a 54-year-old female pedestrian in Trenance Park – KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Camelthorn place at approximately 07:03 after receiving reports that a blue Renault Clio with registration NJ 75071 was hijacked. While responding to the call, Reaction Officers were flagged down by a pedestrian on Marula Circle. She explained that she was robbed of her cellphone at gunpoint. Three shots were fired during the robbery.

Other RUSA Members who responded to Camelthorn Place established that the suspects involved in the robbery were linked to the hijacking. Information received confirmed that at least six suspects in a blue Renault Triber and a blue Toyota Quest (registrations unknown) hijacked the owner of the Renault Clio. She was also deprived of her jewellery before they the suspects sped off towards Marula Circle and robbed the pedestrian. The victims were not injured.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects, but no arrests were made.
