The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit (FCS) in Gqeberha are still investigating the disappearance of four-year-old Nakane Lizane, who went missing from his home on 11 May 2023 in Wells Estate.
It is alleged that on the abovementioned date at approximately 15:45, the mother was at home when Nakane Lizane was dropped off at home from the day care. While his mother was busy preparing supper Nakane was playing outside the house at 1807 erf, Ndlovini, Wells Estate with his 10 year old brother. After a while, their mother called them to come inside but only the 10-year-old brother went in. Little Nakane was nowhere to be found. The child was reported missing at SAPS Swartkops.
Numerous search parties were formed, and mass searches were conducted with the assistance of various SAPS divisions/unit, community members, local and national media houses, private security companies as well as drones used by a private company to scan the surrounding area of Wells Estate, Gqeberha.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black pair of jeans, light coloured T-shirt and a black jacket.
