The body of a man was discovered hanging from a rafter in his bedroom during a wellness check at his home in Mjoji – KZN today (Friday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the property after a friend of the deceased made the discovery.
On arrival at approximately 11:32, Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were led into the residence. The deceased’s decomposing body was located on the floor next to his bed.
It was established that he was last seen on Wednesday (24/07/2024). His friend arrived at the residence today to conduct a wellness check due to the man being unreachable on his cellphone. He entered the house through an unlocked door and found him hanging by a rope fastened to a rafter. He cut the rope and lowered the body.
It was alleged that the deceased had previously threatened to commit suicide.
Circumstances leading up to the incident was not immediately known.
