At 14.30, gunshots were heard in the Mount Edgecombe Plaza. Tactical officers responded to find one victim(uber driver) with a gunshot wound to the thigh. Response officers gave chase on foot, and mobile units were dispatched.
After a short pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle was blocked in by Syndicate tactical units and members on foot.
The suspects were from the taxi association. Suspects were apprehended, and two(2) firearms were recovered.
Suspects were detained until SAPS arrived. Suspects and vehicles were handed over to saps for processing.
