Fifteen armed suspects in three vehicles stormed stores in the Phoenix Plaza in Kwazulu Natal at 11:10 this morning (Sunday).
The suspects were heavily armed with AK 47’s & other Pistols/rifles when they robbed several stores.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received mutiple calls for assistance from the Community Policing Forum (CPF), shoppers and store owners.
Reaction Officers and Police Officers responding to the situation were attacked by the gunmen.
A SAPS member and a civilian were shot by the fleeing suspects.
