Three arrested for the theft of 40 sheep from a farm near Bultfontein

Members of the Bultfontein SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested three suspects aged 32, 37 and 49 for possession of suspected stolen livestock.

On Sunday 28 July 2024 at 11:55, Bultfontein SAPS members received information about stock theft that had occurred at a farm. The information was operationalised and followed up. Upon arrival at the farm it was confirmed that 40 sheep were stolen.

Preliminary investigation was conducted. Footprints were found and followed by the members for a very long distance from the scene of crime. Three suspects were caught while slaughtering sheep.

The members recovered 14 sheep carcasses, 23 live sheep, 11 lambs, 1 Toyota Corolla registration; 4 cellphones, 6 Lesotho passports and 3 knives.
