A dedicated SAPS team executed a targeted search and seizure warrant at Dragon City on Albertina Sisulu Street, Johannesburg, in strict adherence to the Counterfeit Goods Act.
This operation marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat the trade of counterfeit and contraband goods in Gauteng. Our collaborative operation, which included detectives from the Commercial Crime unit, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens, and Brand Protectors, resulted in the successful seizure of 5,800 counterfeit textile materials valued at R2.4 million. Additionally, one suspect involved in this illegal activity was apprehended and will face charges in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
