A married 32 year old Durban – KZN woman (details withheld) made contact with Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in April 2024 seeking assistance.
The woman informed Reaction Officers that her ex-boyfriend was threatening to release homemade sex videos & nude images recorded when they engaged in an extra marital affair in January – March 2024. The woman and her ex-lover are employed at the same company for several years.
He informed her via a watsapp message that he intended sending the videos to her husband, work colleagues & family after she requested money that was loaned to him. The woman added that she had loaned the man R18 000 and he had failed to repay as promised. The woman declined to report the Sextortion & register a criminal case out of fear that her details would be made public.
Reaction Officers directed the woman to the Small Claims Court (SCC).
