A family retuning from Osindisweni Government Hospital (OGH) were involved in a collision on Oakford Road in Oakford – KZN yesterday afternoon (Friday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and discovered a white Toyota Corolla at the base of an embankment. The driver was entrapped in the vehicle. Several Emergency Services responded to the scene and freed the man from the wreckage. A passenger in the vehicle also sustained a fractured leg.
It was established that the Toyota Corolla was returning from Osindisweni Government Hospital (OGH) after dealing with a medical emergency when the vehicle was involved in a head on collision with a silver Hyundai Atos. The Toyota Corolla veered off the road and crashed into a ditch several metres below the road.
The occupants of the silver Hyundai Atos were not injured.
