Midlands EMS crews, along with Midlands EMS Advanced Life Support practitioners, were dispatched to a local restaurant in Howick after a man collapsed.
Upon arrival, it was found that bystanders had already initiated CPR. The crews took over, and after administering advanced life support treatment and delivering a shock from the defibrillator, paramedics were able to restore a pulse and signs of life.
Once stabilized, the patient was transported to a nearby specialist hospital for further care.
This incident highlights the incredible impact that quick thinking and early intervention can have in an emergency. We extend our deepest gratitude to the heroic bystanders for their immediate response and remind everyone of the vital importance of early CPR-it truly saves lives.
