Women in blue in Kimberley execute operation Basadi

Women in blue from Roodepan SAPS, together with Kagisho SAPS, the Department of Home Affairs, Sol Plaatje Traffic Department, Roodepan SAPS Women’s Network and Safety volunteers recently joined forces and executed Operation Basadi in the Frances Baard District.

Kagisho SAPS Station Commander Colonel Michelle Ford led the operation as Operational Commander.

A Vehicle Check Point was conducted in Roodepan, where 160 vehicles and 456 persons were stopped and searched, and traffic fines to the valued of R7050 were issued for various traffic violations

Compliance inspections were conducted at tuckshops, premises searched, and high visibility patrols were executed in hotspot areas.

Operation Basadi will continue unabated during the month of August to commemorate the achievements and strides made by women in law enforcement.
