Three suspects aged between 24-60 years old have been arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition by the Newcastle POP at Mazabeko area under Nhlanhleni policing precinct.
In the early hours of Wednesday, 14 August 2024 an intelligence driven operation was conducted at Mazabeko area on an information of a wanted suspect in a case of murder that occurred under Nhlanhleni policing precinct last week. On arrival at the identified location the wanted suspect was not found, but two suspects were arrested after being found with possession of one pistol and ammunition each.
The operation further proceeded to the next target in the same area where on arrival one suspect was arrested after being found in possession of an unlicensed pistol with ammunition.
All suspects will appear in Msinga Magistrate Court soon.
