Foreign National nabbed with half a million rand worth of drugs

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested a 44-year-old foreign national in connection with a case of dealing in drugs in Umbilo on Monday, 19 August 2024.

Intelligence was gathered about suspected illegally activities which was happening at a flat on Melbourne Road and with the court having granted a search warrant, a search and seizure operation was conducted.

When the police pounced at the flat, the suspect was found in possession of heroin powder as well as bricks and broken full moons of rock cocaine. The recovered drugs is estimated to be worth a street value of just over half a million rand.

The suspect is due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 facing a charge of dealing in drugs.
