Ravensmead SAPS clamps down on drugs worth R17 500

Ravensmead SAPS remains resolute to rid their community from the scourge of drug abuse and the distribution thereof, which is regarded as a major contributor towards the commission of serious and violent crime within their policing precinct.

On Tuesday, 20 August 2024 at about 05:30, Ravensmead SAPS Crime Prevention Unit members were busy with tracing of wanted suspects at Christine Court, 10 th Avenue, Ravensmead when they noticed a suspicious looking male and decided to approach him. Upon searching the suspect they discovered 175 sachets of cocaine with a street value of about R17 500 in his possession.

The members arrested the 30-year-old suspect and confiscated the cocaine. The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court for possession of drugs once he has been charged.
