A Crime Intelligence led operation by Mahikeng Detectives, Mahikeng Flying Squad and Mmabatho Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) on Wednesday afternoon, 21 August 2024, resulted in the arrest of Zeno Readson (40) and Goitsemodimo Kgaswane (49) for house robbery, unlawful possession of firearms and unlawful possession of ammunition. They briefly appeared in the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mmabatho today, and were remanded in custody until Monday, 26 August 2024.

The accused were arrested after information was operationalised regarding suspects driving in a white Toyota Quantum and committing business robberies in and around Ngaka Modiri Molema District. It is alleged the team spotted the suspects’ vehicle arriving at the mall in Mmabatho. The suspects were eventually cornered and arrested when they exited the mall. Further investigation led the team to a house in Unit 13 where a 9 mm pistol and drugs known as KAT, were found during the search. The team also seized the Toyota Quantum for further investigation.

According to information, Readson who is a Malawian foreign national, entered a student residence in Mahikeng on Wednesday, 21 August 2024. He allegedly pointed the residents with a firearm.
