Vigilant members of the Cape Town K9 Unit arrested a female suspect for the possession of drugs in Garden Street, Riverton, Elsies River on Tuesday evening, 27 August 2024.
The members were conducting patrols when they noticed a lot of people walking in and out of a premises. They acted upon their instinct and searched the premises by utilizing the drug detection dog. The dog reacted positive to a substance in the bedroom of the Wendy-house . They searched the bedroom and found ten plastic bags containing mandrax tablets. A total of 2003 mandrax tablets were confiscated.
The 48-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court once she has been charged.
