EMPD services impound eight foreign motor vehicles in the Kwatsaduza area

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Overloads Unit Officers impounded eight foreign vehicles in the Kwatsaduza area.

EMPD Specialized services Overloads unit Officers conducted a sting operation with a stern focus on noncompliant foreign motor vehicles. Officers moving within the area managed to spot and stop eight vehicles with foreign registration plates as there should be a legal requirement to operate such vehicles within the borders of the country.

Upon investigation and intel from a Swaziland source on the confirmation of documents it was discovered that all stopped motor vehicles documents are fraudulent and invalid. The drivers of the vehicles were not compliant as all vehicles were from Swaziland.

Investigations also revealed that most of these vehicles were bought in their countries of origin but not registered in the system, some owns of these vehicle’s cannot be traced and may commit crimes in neighboring countries.

All vehicles were moved to Boksburg EMPD pounds for safekeeping.
