Police launch a search for suspects after ATM bombing in Levubu

The Police at Levubu are searching for a group of armed suspects responsible for an ATM bombing at a filling station in Tshakhuma Dzananwa, Levubu policing area, in the early hours of Monday, 02 September 2024, in Vhembe District.

According to reports, the suspects accosted the security officer and employees, forcing them to the back of the premises. The suspects then blasted two ATMs and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot, heading towards Thohoyandou.

Police were alerted to the incident and, upon arrival, commenced initial investigations, leading to the recovery of items including cartridges, a detonator battery, and a face mask at the scene. There were no reported injuries during the incident.
