JMPD meets with Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality to enhance collaboration and share best practices

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) today hosted a meeting with delegates from the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality. The purpose of the meeting was to foster stronger collaboration between the two entities and explore opportunities for knowledge sharing and capacity building.

During the meeting, City of Johannesburg Public Safety and JMPD officials showcased the innovative strategies and technologies employed by the JMPD in its operations. Key areas of focus included the Integrated Intelligence Operations Centre (IIOC), Tactical Command Centre, and Traffic Law Enforcement.

The representatives shared valuable insights into the effective utilization of technology to enhance public safety and improve service delivery.

The meeting served as a platform for both municipalities to learn from each other’s experiences and identify potential areas for joint initiatives. Tomorrow, the meeting will continue with representatives from Mangaung Municipality outlining the specific objectives of their visit and senior leadership from the JMPD presenting an overview of the functions and responsibilities of their various directorates.
