43 learners benefit bicycles from Thuntsa Lerole in Morokwaneng

A grade 12 Learner from Diteho Secondary School in Morokwaneng, outside Ganyesa, Muzi Changase promised to improve his academics as a result of receiving a shova kalula bicycle which will enable him to get to school on time.

He was speaking on behalf of the 43 learners who received bicycles this morning during the Thuntsa Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Programme in the Kagisano Molopo Municipality.

Changase said he’s traveling more than 4 kilometers to and from school on daily basis and that has been affecting his performance as he arrives at school tired and some times late.

Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Wessels Morweng appealed to parents not to use the bicycles as they are meant to shorten traveling time for learners.

“We plead with you not to use these bicycles, even during weekends. They are meant for learners to improve their studies at school. This is one of government services to improve the conditions of our children especially those in rural areas to easily access education as their fundamental right,” pleaded Morweng.

Acting Premier Gaoage Molapisi requested parents to also take their responsibility on the maintenance of bicycles.

He said the Thuntsa Lerole is designed to accelerate services to the communities in the Province.
