Fraudster surrenders after four years on the run in Ndwedwe

A female fraudster on the run from Law Enforcement for the past four years surrendered herself to Police.

A criminal case was registered at the Maloti SAPS in Matatiele – Eastern Cape against 32-year-old Busisiwe Sunshine Ngcobo in August 2020 after she allegedly defrauded the complainant for R250 000. Ngcobo advertised a mini bus online but failed to deliver the vehicle after the money was transferred into her account. She has since been on the run.

Yesterday (Thursday), Detectives from the SAPS Commercial Crime Unit in Matatiele – Eastern Cape arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) HQ requesting assistance to apprehend the fraudster who was believed to be hiding out in Ndwedwe – KZN. A Warrant for her arrest was issued on 19/06/2024.

Information provided by the Investigation Officers was circulated on this Facebook page. Reaction Officers received multiple tip offs from the public and were in the process of proceeding to the suspect’s home Sokombo in Ndwedwe –
KZN but she surrendered herself to the Verulam SAPS prior to their arrival.

The Investigating Officers were preparing to return to the Eastern Cape when they were informed of the surrender. They proceeded to the Verulam SAPS and uplifted Ngcobo. She is currently being transported back to Matatiele – Eastern Cape.

Ngcobo is expected to appear in the Matatiele Magistrates Court on Monday.
