Foreign National arrested for illegal liquor trading in Langa

On Monday 09 September 2024 at about 11:30, members attached to Western Cape Counterfeit and Illicit Goods Policing Team, the Provincial Operational Command Centre Anti-Economic Task Team as well as Brand Compliance officers from Brand Compliance Pty Ltd executed a search and seizure warrant for illicit and illegal liquor products at a liquor premises situated in Washington Street, Langa.

Members confiscated various illegal and illicit liquor brands from amongst others Emperor Vodka, Best original whiskey, Highland Giant whiskey, and Wellington VO Brandy. The confiscated liquor has an estimated street value of approximately R600,000-00.

A 39 year old foreign national was arrested and detained at Langa SAPS and will appear in Goodwood Magistrate’s Court once charged.
