The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) arrested two (2) suspects in the Katlehong area.
Following on a continuous operation on suspects that hijack vehicles, during investigations, the Officers received information about whereabouts of a suspect that is involved in this syndicate.
Officers proceeded to Buyafuthi hostel, where a male suspect was found in possession of a reported hijacked white Toyota Mini Bus, which was stripped. The suspect was cooperative and voluntarily showed the Officers the whereabouts
of his accomplice.
Members proceeded to the second location, where one male suspect was found in the vicinity, in possession of a reported white Toyota Legend 45 pick up.
The due were arrested and taken to Katlehong Police Station, facing charges of possession of stolen property. Both vehicles were booked for safe keeping and they are expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s court soon.
