A tip-off leads to alleged drug dealers removed from the streets of Hoopstad

Members of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit received information from residents of Hoopstad about suspects dealing in drugs at Tikwana in Hoopstad.

The information was operationalised on 20 September 2024, whereby a house was tactically approached in Korea Section Tikwana Location, where a 53-year-old male person and a 45-year-old woman were found.

The following drugs were found and seized: 110 full, 11 halves, 12 quarters of Mandrax tablets and cash. The suspects were arrested for possession of drugs.

Members proceeded to a house in Towa Street in Tikwana Location where a 33-year-old male person was found with 98 full Mandrax tablets, 23 Crystal Meth satchets weighing 3,5 grams and cash. He was arrested for possession of drugs.

The SAPS members further proceeded to a house in Terror Lekota Street in Tikwana Location, where a 41-year-old male person was found with three full, 27 quarters, 14 halves of Mandrax tablets, 34 Crystal Meth satchets, two crushed Mandrax tablets and cash. He was arrested for possession of drugs.

The four suspects will appear on 23 September 2024 in the Hoopstad Magistrate Court.
