Fire extinguished at a thatch roof of a home in Rhode Street, Faerie Glen

Just after 13:00, the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a house fire in Rhode Street, Faerie Glen. Our team worked with the City of Tshwane Firefighters to contain and extinguish the blaze at the large Thatch roof house.

Two minors who were in the house when the fire started were assessed for smoke inhalation and other injuries. Luckily, they both escaped with no injuries, and no other injuries were reported on scene.

The cause of the fire will be determined after a formal investigation.

Thank you to SAPS, TMPD, Fedility ADT, Bull security, and GF sector 2 CPF for all the assistance on scene.
