Kidnappers have requested a R5000 ransom for the release of a kidnapped Zimbabwean National.
A male friend of Vimbai Chiukri (pictured) arrived at the Reaction Unit South Africa Headquarters at approximately 13:30 (Friday) requesting urgent assistance after he received a message from her phone. According to the friend, he intended meeting Chiukri (aged 28) in the Verulam Central Business District.
He then received the message via social media demanding R5000. When the male friend called her number, an unknown male answered her phone and informed him that she was kidnapped at a robot in the Verulam CBD and the ransom money needed to be paid for her release.
Reaction Officers are currently searching for the female. Partners in Law Enforcement have been informed of the Kidnapping.
