” In anticipation of snowfall, our highly efficient, dedicated and hard working team from Road Traffic Inspectorate and Transport Infrastructure Unit has already established a satelite base in Van Reenen on the N3. The team has been joined by a team from Traffic Inspectorate – Free State Province,” the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma pointed out today 28 September at 15h00.

He added: “Our main priority is to ensure road safety. We appreciate the guidance from the SA Weather Services as an authoritative voice on weather related matters.”

Duma concluded: “Equally, we appreciate the enduring strength of Disaster Management Committee co-ordinated through COGTA nationally and provincially. We value the work of municipalities, farmers and non governmental organizations as we implement our unprecedented agenda in response to road safety challenges caused erratic weather conditions linked to the Climate Change.”
