Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) has convened a strategic management planning session which will run from 02-04 October 2024. The three-day deliberation is to foster joint planning, collaboration, innovation, and efficiency in RAL’s ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure within the Limpopo Province.

The strategic session is attended by, among others, the MEC for the Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Mr Ernest Rachoene together with the departments Acting HOD, Mr Daddy Phukuntsi, RAL Accounting Authority, Mr Moses Tseli, and RAL Acting CEO, Mr Makhitha Chesane. The session encompasses the management of RAL and is joined by a key role player from SAWiC, Ms Mabel Motsifane to give insights to the strategic demands of their sector. The aim of this significant session will be to discuss the Agency’s objectives, challenges, and future initiatives towards reviewing the previous five-year strategy to prepare for the upcoming five-year strategy based on each units focus area.

In addressing the session, the MEC stressed the importance to prioritise the needs of the people of Limpopo. He added, “Roads are important for Limpopo’s economic growth, which in turn improves the lives of the people of the province. Therefore, the importance of proper quality road infrastructure cannot be overemphasised.”

The MEC also expressed satisfaction with the work done by the RAL men and women, whilst not shying away from pointing out the shortcomings of RAL which require urgent attention. He maintained that the focus will be on developing actionable strategies which align with RAL’s mission to play a catalytic role towards the growth in the economy of Limpopo.
